Don't Skip BCAAs

Don’t skip the BCAAs! It’s something that should a part of everyone’s workout program, especially if you’re trying to build muscle like me.

Amino acids are the building blocks of protein and a large part of our body. Muscle, tissue and cells are made up of aminos. Branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) are essential amino acids that are made up of:

  • L-Leucine

  • L-Valine

  • L-Isoleucine

Our body does not make these essential aminos, that is why its important to get the from other sources. Besides in supplements, BCAAs are found in meat, dairy and legumes. Just some of the many benefits to adding BCAAs to your daily supplementation include:

  • Supports exercise performance

  • Reduces protein and muscle breakdown during workout

  • Helps reduce muscle loss when you cut calories

  • Improves concentration

  • Prevents fatigue by reducing serotonin levels

  • Helps gain muscle mass

  • Increases the rate of protein synthesis

Anytime around your workout is an ideal time to take your BCAAs, you can take it before, during or after.
